Ecommerce SEO Manager
Hello! We’re FortNine. We help Canadian riders access the knowledge and gear they need so that they can spend less time worrying over logistics, and more time on their wheels.
We’re looking for an experienced SEO Specialist to lead and improve organic search performance while supporting our SEM team.
To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate should share our data-driven mindset. This mindset might have started with a passion for solving puzzles, diving into gaming strategies, experimenting with personal side projects, or refining workflows in professional roles. Whether through academic pursuits or hands-on experience, the ideal candidate is driven by an obsession with tracking every datapoint and optimizing every process, relentlessly seeking every possible SEO edge.
This role is intended to allow for a Hybrid work location split, but only for Montreal and surrounding area candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
You’ll take full ownership of SEO metrics, ensuring the channel runs effectively and delivers strong outcomes through:
Authority and Technical SEO
- Develop authority-building strategies, including backlink acquisition.
- Monitor and flag technical SEO issues and emerging updates like schema markup, ensuring they are addressed and resolved.
Content and Keyword Growth
- Expand our portfolio of informational keywords to build topical authority and enhance the user journey.
- Grow our portfolio of shopping-focused keywords to improve visibility and drive sales.
Keyword and Page Optimization
- Vigilantly monitor and optimize key pages within our competitive landscape to ensure we stay ahead.
- Collaborate with paid advertising teams to align organic and paid keyword strategies for maximum performance.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of success in SEO through past roles or personal projects.
- Ability to query databases to extract and analyze data, creating actionable insights to guide SEO strategies.
- Familiarity with SEO tools (e.g., Google Search Consol, SEMrush, Ahrefs) and experience in implementing tracking mechanisms to monitor performance metrics.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage in proactive outreach initiatives.
Nice-to-Have:
- Bilingual in French and English, particularly in written form.
- Basic Programming knowledge (e.g., Python).
- Degree in a human-centered field, such as psychology or marketing.
- Passion for boating, mountain biking, motorcycles, or any related powersports field!
