Retail Cashier/Runner
Join Defender Marine, New England's trusted marine outfitter for over 87 years! We're looking for a friendly, dependable Part-Time Cashier to join our retail team. If you enjoy helping customers, working in a fast-paced environment, and have retail or cashier experience, we'd love to meet you.
Schedule
20–30 hours per week
2–3 days per week
8-hour shifts between 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Weekdays and Saturdays (closed Sundays)
Responsibilities
Greet customers and provide outstanding customer service.
Process cash, credit card, and other sales transactions accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
Answer customer questions and assist with returns and exchanges.
Maintain an organized, clean, and professional checkout area.
Support the retail team with daily store operations.
Help create a positive shopping experience for every customer.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
1+ year of cashier, retail, or customer service experience preferred.
Previous cash handling and POS system experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Boating or marine product knowledge is a plus but not required—we provide training.
